Holden has launched its fourth model following the Captiva, Barina & Viva to be imported from GM Daewoo in Korea - the Holden Epica mid-size sedan. The top of the line.CDXi model includes larger 17" Alloy Wheels - 5 Spoke Design with a leather pack option.

Officially revealed at the Brisbane motor show in early February 2007 and was on sale in Holden showrooms from April, 2007. Epica is mid-size without compromise. Powered exclusively by Euro IV emissions-compliant inline six-cylinder engines, the Epica range opens with the 105kW/195Nm 2.0-litre CDX five-speed manual.

Mated exclusively to a five-speed auto is a 115kW/237Nm 2.5-litre engine in the self-shifting CDX, priced at $27,990.

The 2.5-litre CDXi auto is the Epica flagship, priced at $30,990 and available with optional leather trim $2000. CDXi comes standard with metallic paint, which is a $360 option for CDX.

As previously reported, standard across the range will be twin front and front side airbags, ABS, traction control, air-conditioning, cruise control, four power windows, a six-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 player and 16-inch alloy wheels.

The CDXi adds side curtain airbags, climate-control, two extra speakers, a six-CD stacker, electronic information display, a leather-clad steering wheel/gearshift, foglights, sports bodykit and 17-inch alloys (still with a 15-inch steel spare). Also issued previously, official ADR 81/01 fuel consumption is stated at 8.2L/100km for the (CDX) 2.0-litre manual and 9.3L/100km for the (CDX/i) 2.5-litre auto.

The 480-litre boot and split fold rear seat give plenty of room for everyone and can comfortably seat 4 adults with plenty of elbow room. The CDX model gets 16-inch alloys, dual front airbags, ABS with traction controls, air and MPS compatible stereo. The CDXi gets an extra inch on the rims, two more 'bags, five more CD slots and leather trim. The 2007 Holden Epica is definitely for the cost-conscious and a strong rival for the Toyota Camry in the mid-size segment.
